Welcome to Violante's Meat Market we are a family-owned and operated Italian Specialty Shop. We are the original Violante's Meat Market opening our doors in 1969. We offer nothing but the highest quality meats, deli cold cuts, sandwiches, salads, wraps, and homemade catering available.

We began in 1969 when Aniello (Niel) Violante Sr. made his dream of opening his own shop a reality. For the first time, he was opening his doors on the corner of Hoffman Boulevard and Grove Street in East Orange, NJ. Open 7 days a week he welcomed each customer into his family and made sure that each person had exactly what they wanted on their plates each and every meal. After 9 years and outgrowing this location, Niel as he was called by all, knew it was time to move to a larger location to satisfy the needs of his customers, staff, and himself. The doors once again open in Bloomfield. Located just off the corner of the Grove Street and directly on "the Ave" 1978 was another great milestone.

In 2021, our Bloomfield location suffered a terrible fire.  We have now relocated to Nutley and 55 years later, we are still cutting the finest quality meats and still serving many who remember our first two locations.  
 

In 2010 we lost our founder Aniello Sr. when he lost his battle with cancer. The doors remain open with his son Niel (Junior) running this circus! And what a show it is, at any given time when you walk through the door you will hear a customer’s name being yelled out, conversations being had and if you are new to the neighborhood or the shop you will be welcomed with friendly servers, big smiles, and of course great food.

Here are a few things that we do daily to ensure that you are purchasing the finest freshest quality products...

• Order with the same supplier for the past 44 years, they are local and can deliver daily if needed

• Dates are important, we accept nothing that has a pack date of 14 days or more

• Fresh never frozen

• We are highly skilled and trained butchers, which means, each and every cut will be exactly what you are asking for

• We know our way around the kitchen, our staff will be able to advise the best way to cook specific cuts to make your perfect meal

In 2016 Violante’s opened our sister company Violante's Catering.

From butcher block to stovetop our customers get the freshest food prepared for them so they can enjoy their party or event.

Tuesday - Friday 8 am - 6pm 
Saturday - 8am - 5pm
Sunday - 8am-3pm
Closed: Monday
